Biomass Boilers for Agricultural Business'

The best suited boilers for;

Wood Chip Boilers

This particular type of boiler can provide both heating for properties and hot water. For many land owners, a source of trees will be available to them form their own land which means that they can fuel the system themselves if they carry out the chipping process themselves.

These particular type of boilers provide a high output as they are very efficient with a low running cost due to the fuel type being wood chip.

Wood Pellet Boilers

Similar to woodchip boilers, these systems are favoured by landowners as they will often have the fuel required on the land, being trees. Unlike wood chip boilers, these system are used more for heating rather than hot water.

Although the only fuel source is wood, these boilers can reach the same if not higher temperatures than fossil fuelled systems.

Is China the future?

China, which is expected to double its demand for energy in the next 15 to 20 years, currently consumes 45% of the world’s fossil fuels. This will mean that an additional 45% of oil, gas, coal, and mineral resources will have to be found. In the 1970’s oil was changing hands at around $10 per barrel. Today, new fracking techniques (getting oil, rather than blood out of a stone) will cost at least $80 per barrel, and this cost will increase as the oil rich reserves are quickly used up.
